Center for Career Exploration

Our Center for Career Exploration (CCE) initiative supports students to receive hands on education and training in a range of trades and professions they can apply to support our local businesses and economy. We work with community partners to design and develop relevant programs that give students the skills they need in the areas of trade & industry, hospitality and healthcare and a range of other sectors that align with our students interests and our communities’ needs.

Entrepreneurial Camp

During this camp students discover the fundamentals of entrepreneurship such as, opportunity recognition, market research, business financials, marketing and presenting ideas. This immersive experience also has the added benefit of connecting students with local business executives and successful entrepreneurs. With industry exposure at this level, students will have the information and inspiration they need to become amazing leaders of thriving companies.

Culinary
Boot Camp

During this camp, students learn a new skill each day; including knife skills, frying techniques, as well as dry heat and moist heart cooking methods. At the end of each day, students put their new skills to the test by creating their own lunch. The camps culminates with a "Chopped" style experience where students are given a mystery basket of ingredients to create a delicious meal.

Airline
Industry Course

In this exciting 2-day course, students learn about different career paths within the aviation industry. These include; airline ground agents, aviation mechanics, corporate flight facilities, airport management, and airport fire & rescue. In addition, they learn what it takes to become a pilot with an FAA certified flight instructor. Students have the opportunity to attend a basic "ground school" and even experience a scenic introductory flight lesson!

Trade &
Industry Camp

In this 5-day camp, students experience modern manufacturing by creating and building products related to five different career paths including welding, HVAC, Automation/Automotive, Plumbing and Masonry. Students engage in hands on experiences with industry experts in a safe environment with close adult supervision.
