Kindergarten to Career —

Helping Kids Spread their Wings

Thanks to our extraordinary community support, we are growing and expanding our work.

Together we will now go further and deeper into empowering students through expanded programs and services – providing even more tools, opportunities, skills and personal development resources for the youth of Blaine County.

Our mission: Far + Wise provides academic support and experiential education for students from early elementary through high school and beyond, and by removing financial and other barriers, ensures that all students can achieve their education, career, and life goals.

Our Approach Is Unique

Far + Wise commits to our students, long term. Students in our core programs receive academic and experiential education from elementary school through high school and beyond. Support includes tutoring, mentorship, homework support, enrichment opportunites, outdoor education and service opportunities. Additionally, we provide support to explore educational and career opportunities. As a unique incentive, each student is offered tuition assistance for college or vocational school upon successful completion of high school.

We recently introduced trade and vocational programming to expand opportunites for students in middle, high school and graduates, by offering camps and classes, locally. We are eager to provide skill-building and training opportunities, and to match talent with business needs. This collaborative program is conducted in partnership with the Blaine County School District, College of Southern Idaho and Sun Valley Economic Development.

    Elementary Programs

We provide academic support, tutoring, mentorship and enrichment programming year-round for the students we serve. Literacy, math, science, outdoor skill-building and even community service are integral to our programs and are delivered through fun and creative play, programs and practices.

    Middle & High School Programs

Our core programs continue in middle & high school with tutoring, homework support, enrichment programming and mentorship. Our high school students receive post-secondary (college, trade school) and career counseling. Additionally we offer career camps including exposure to job opportunities and skill-building. We will match students with apprenticeships, internships and other on-site job opportunities.

    Post-Secondary Programs

Our post-secondary students and other graduates receive financial aid support and guidance, mentorship, counseling on course selection, life and career planning, time management and other support services.

    Center for Career Exploration

We have introduced trade & vocational programming to expose students to a range of local jobs and career opportunities. We also offer camps, and will introduce classes, to offer skill-building and educational opportunities in vocations related to local economy needs. These trainings are done in close partnership with the Blaine County School District, local businesses, nonprofits, and public agencies, The College of Southern Idaho and SVED. Ultimately, we are eager to connect student talent with local business needs.

    Partnership Programs

We partner with public and private organizations to expand our reach to serve more students by sharing resources, creating great learning opportunities, helping others and bringing youth and adults together to teach, learn and give back.

We Focus on the Individual

We take an individualized approach, tailoring our programs to suit each student’s particular needs and interests. Parents are involved every step of the way.

We Believe

Because we know impact is measured over years, our core programs provide support to our students from first grade to first job.

We Know

When barriers are removed and opportunities are provided, all children can reach their full potential.
